Bright Ideas for Fall

Nature's fall palette is often reflected in how we dress for a new season. Autumn greens, golds and browns, deep colors and muted tones appear in our closets as we faze out the lighter fabrics and summery prints. While I love all of this as much as anyone (which the grey section of my closet could attest to) I am mixing things up with pops of bright colors and jewel tones to give my fall looks a fresh new face.

Alice + Olivia never disappoints when it comes to creative prints and out-of-the-box design. I am completely enchanted with their Moore Floral Tie-Neck Flutter-Sleeve Layered Tunic Dress because it is a year round piece. Breezy flutter sleeves will be great in warm weather, and for fall I have chosen to style it with great boots and a cozy coat. This silk dress certainly does not disappoint with its flattering silhouette and brilliant jewel tone patterns.  I love the details as well, like the layered ruffle hem, the super long tie at the neck, and how the fabric moves when you walk. It is a keeper.

Over the knee boots are a favorite of mine, especially when you want to look cool while keeping warm and aren't in the mood for tights. This Marc Fisher Arletta Boot gives the bright dress a fall vibe and the length of the dress lets you give a tiny peek of skin, which is sassy fun. I am all about the pointy toe and the soft yet fitted faux suede, which gives them a subtle sexy feel. These boots will be great over a skinnier pant and so would the Marc Fisher Yakira Boot in the fantastic Urban Chic Grey color.

Since it is autumn, layers are required, so why not make them fun? I am a big fan of faux fur and the softer the better. This Blank Denim Rainbow Pop Coat is so cozy and soft and I love the color blocking and the cropped shape. It was a perfect addition to my colorful dress but is also going to be a gorgeous pop of color with denim, all black or even a graphic tee. And it is $118 but is as luxurious as anything three times the price. You are welcome. ;)
